STREET FEAST

A few Friday's ago we scrambled out of work and de-camped to East London in the promise of bonfires, street food and alcohol.

We arrived at Dalston Yard pretty early (but not early enough to avoid the £3 entry fee at 7pm) so only had a short queue to face with the smell of BBQ and burning logs in the air.

Once inside the derelict yard turned food-paradise we armed ourselves with pints of Cornish cider and tried to tackle the tricky decision of where to eat first.

The Neapolitan cult favourite Pizza Pilgrims was the initial winner in our group. The promise of fresh cheesy gooey carbs proving too much to resist.

The pizza was so good and set the standard pretty high for the rest of the evening. One of the cheaper options at Street Feast, you definitely get value for money (it's VERY easy to fritter away your cash here in the foodie frenzy) and is a must try if you haven't already sampled their cheesy delights.

Next we joined in the swarm around Mama's Jerk Station. Simple delicious comfort food is the epitome of Street Feast and Mama's Jerk delivered on that front with a box of punchy jerk chicken.

Here the alcohol had obviously taken its toll on my camera-man and things became a bit... blurry.

For our final pit stop we joined the Smokestack queue in search of ribs. We were not left disappointed.

Whilst we were waiting the boys all developed a man crush on this fine meat-cleaving male, who distracted them from the snaking queue ahead of us.

... Rib-coma.

We trotted off into the night slightly tipsy with full bellies. The perfect combination to fall asleep on the long tube-ride home.
