REVIEW: ORIGINS Clean Energy vs SUPER FACIALIST Skin Renew Cleansing Oil

There are plenty of cleansing face oils out there at the moment.
I've been buying Origins Clean Energy for a couple of years now and it's my favourite cleansing oil. Although it lasts a long time, at an eye watering £21 I thought I'd try the Super Facialist by Una Brennan Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Reniew Cleansing Oil (phew what a mouthful!). After giving both cleansing oils a go I thought I'd share my thoughts on them with you.

Clean Energy is a very lightweight cleansing oil for all skin types containing olive, sunflower, sesame & safflower oils to remove dirt and also Kukui nut & Macadamia oils to restore moisture. The product contains vitamin E and has a fresh, light scent of grapefruit, orange & lemon. To use you apply a small amount of oil to dry skin, add water to emulsify and then rinse. When I first used this product I was skeptical as to how it would work. Having only ever previously used foaming cleansers or exfoliants before I couldn't see how an oil was going to clean my skin. It works really well at removing make up and dirt (a separate eye make up remover is needed) from your skin and leaves skin feeling refreshed, even & moisturised. I love this product & would highly recommend it for dry skin although it's suitable for all skin types.

Super Facialist Skin Renew Cleansing Oil is very similar to Origins Clean Energy. It contains similar ingredients with olive & sunflower oils but also contains grape seed, raspberry seed, orange peel, passionflower seed, rosehip seed & cucumber seed oils. Origins contains less ingredients & doesn't contain any minerals so I would think it's better for your skin. The Super Facialist Skin Renew Cleansing Oil contains perfume, I can't quite pinpoint the smell of it but I know it has quite a strong, sweet, flowery/orange blossom fragrance. It is not unpleasant but definitely very strong. Origins Clean Energy has a much milder and fresh smell. I personally believe all your senses are really important when using a beauty product (especially smell when it comes to choosing a product). The Super Facialist Cleansing Oil has a much more oily feel to it but the good thing is the clever packaging allows only a little product to be dispensed at a time, whereas with Origins Clean Energy you would need to buy an additional pump (around £2). After using Super Facialist skin feels clean & soft. At about half the price of Origins Clean Energy, I would say the Super Facialist Skin Renew Cleansing Oil is a great dupe.

Hope you've found my reviews useful. Let me know if you've tried either of these products & how you've found them.
