4 Festival Hair Styles

Before I go to a festival I love perusing the web to find some inspiration for festival hair-dos so that 3 days without a shower won't be a problem for my locks!

I ruddy love going to festivals! I've got my tickets booked for Love Box this weekend & planning Bestival at the end of the festival season too. Check out mine & Harriet's photos from V Festival last year!

Here's some inspiration for 4 different festival hair looks:

1. Waves

English weather is no friend to poker straight hair. So, ditch your hair straighteners and go for some boho inspired waves. The great thing about waves or curls at a festival is that you can be as messy as you like and still look chic.

Waves can look really lovely in a low ponytail if you have long hair. It's also a much more sensible style if you're planning on doing lots of dancing.

To achieve a natural waved style you can plait it in lots of sections before bed. Wake up in the morning, a bit of dry shampoo, some hairspray and you're good to go.

If you don't have naturally wavy hair then perhaps you could use a little help from Aveda's "Be Curly" Curl Enhancing Hair Spray - via House of Fraser. A perfect product to throw into your festival bag that can be applied to dry hair to keep hold of those luscious curls!

2. Pastels

For those who are daring enough, a really cool way to spice up your locks for the summer festival season is to add some pastel colours to your hair. It's very on trend and doesn't have to just be for blondes!

If you don't want to commit to pink or blue hair then a great way to add some fun pastels to your hair is by using hair chalks. It's a quick alternative to hair dye and you can also wash the colour out before you have to be back to work on Monday!

Go for all over colour, just the ends or even different sections of your hair.

3. Plaits

Plaits are possibly the best invention when it comes to 3 day festival hair!

Use the top parts of your hair to wrap around the crown of your head for a very boho style.

Do an awesome fishtail plait if you (or a helpful friend) can.

4. Flower Power

If you suck at doing hair (like me) then go for a statement flower head garland. It will hide a multitude of sins on the last day of a festival and, let's face it, when else can you put flowers in your hair if not at a festival?

You could go all natural and make your own or my favourite floral crowns are from Rock 'N Rose.
