REVIEW: One Kensington

Situated just opposite Kensington Palace Gardens on the bustling High Street, One Kensington is an elegant oasis away from the throngs of shoppers and tourists.

Last week on one stormy summers evening we stopped by for some cocktails and a bite to eat. Housed in an old  bank chamber the decor is very impressive with huge ceilings and a stunning, sweeping bar down the centre of the room. We sat down at the more casual bar area and got stuck into the cocktail menu.

Settled in with couple of cocktails and some starters to share the evening was already off to a great start.

Loin of venison with salsify and pistachio; the venison was absolutely beautiful, served very pink it was melt in your mouth tender and I had to fight my boyfriend to get a second bite of it!

Next up was the seafood salad with avocado. This dish was right up my street, a selection of perfectly cooked fish with a delicious tomato coulis, a perfect light summery plate of food.

The portion size of the starters was pretty generous so we ended our meal with a sharing plate of desserts. These were all delicious and very rich, we struggled to finish it.
Not ready to head home yet we moved over to the raised champagne bar in the window and indulged in some people watching over a couple more drinks.

The perfect place to chat with friends, eat delicious food and work your way through a very extensive cocktail menu.

The staff at One Kensington were so knowledgable and attentive, the polished service made the evening extra special and we set off into the night very happy customers.
